As a way of living up to this notable achievement, I recently undertook a trip to Providence, Rhode Island, to investigate an event that had been advertised as "ComicCon" — the Rhode Island Comic Convention. Since cartoons, comics, and other popular art are a close cousin to editorial cartooning, I decided to do a news report on this particular happening, not only out of my own curiosity, but also to be able to share with my readers (who may not be aware of this part of the American experience) a few details of what happens at a "ComicCon."
While I was not able to make it inside (not having purchased tickets in advance), I was able to capture on video a number of pictures of people attending the event. The news story that I produced as a result has now been posted on Youtube, and you may view it at https://youtu.be/b65YK7t3neM
